The Rolex Submariner Date reference 116610LN was the flagship model for the Submariner line from its introduction in 2010 until its discontinuation in 2020. This reference is celebrated for bringing key modern updates to the classic black-on-black Submariner aesthetic. It featured the so-called “Maxi Case”, which, while retaining a 40 mm diameter, had noticeably thicker lugs and crown guards than its predecessor (ref. 16610), giving it a more substantial presence on the wrist. Most notably, it was the first stainless steel Submariner Date to feature a scratch-resistant black Cerachrom (ceramic) bezel insert, replacing the older aluminum insert.
